Annual Meeting of the Members featuring DGC`s 3rd “Liederabend mit Häppchen & Wein”

The Dallas Goethe Center cordially invites you to its annual business meeting, to be held on the University of Dallas campus.  The event will open with a brief review of the 2024 fiscal year, followed by an introduction of new members of the Board of Directors. The agenda can be found here.

Once any formal business has been concluded, we’ll quickly move on to an enjoyable “Liederabend mit Häppchen und Wein”. We are particularly pleased to have our winner of the 2024 “Liederkranz Award”, Lwazi Dlamini, as musical highlight of the evening. The program of his performance can be found here.

Lwazi Dlamini, is a 31-year-old Swazi highly sought after baritone who started his musical journey about thirteen years ago whilst a student at Manzini Nazarene High School in Matsapha, Eswatini, then Eswatini’s most feared choral music high school. Lwazi moved to Cape Town to study at the University of Cape Town (SACM), where he completed his Advanced Diploma in Opera in 2020. In 2021 Lwazi joined the Young Artist Programme at Cape Town Opera (CTO) where he was an understudy for roles of The Father in “Hänsel und Gretel” by Humperdinck and Zurga in “The Pearl Fishers”. Lwazi is now a student at Southern Methodist University where he pursues his Performers Diploma. He won the Liederkranz award at the NATS competition and 3rd prize in the graduate men category.

The business meeting will take place at the University of Dallas, on the second floor of Cardinal Farrell Hall.  After approx. 30 to 40 minutes, we will enjoy Mr. Dlamini`s performance, combined with a glass of good wine and a bite to eat.

Come join us for an evening with excellent music and good company!
