Lecture by Dr. Christoph Weber, University of North Texas, on the newly released Berlin Alexanderplatz. In this film, the Afghan-born director Burhan Qurbani situates Alfred Döblin’s 1929 epic novel of the same name in contemporary Berlin with the undocumented African immigrant “Francis” as the main protagonist.
